Matt Perri was 15th at the NCAA South Central Regional cross country meet Friday at Waco and now awaits word on his selection as an at-large athlete for the NCAA Championships on Nov. 23.

Matt Perri became HBU's first all-Southland Conference first team cross country athlete with his fifth-place finish Friday at Lake Charles.

Facing conditions better suited to ducks and mudbugs, HBU's men and women will compete in their first-ever Southland Conference cross country championships Friday morning at the Ward 3 Recreation Complex.

Matt Perri nabbed his third Southland Conference Athlete of the Week award of the season, and his second in a row Tuesday in recognition of his fifth-place finish at the Pre-Nationals meet last Saturday.

Matt Perri made the most of his first trip to the Pre-Nationals meet Saturday, finishing fifth in his race at Terre Haute, Ind.
